[SOLVED] Acer GD235hz Monitor

I have an Acer GD235hz monitor. It only works at 120hz with a dual link dvi cable. The problem is dvi tends to be a pain. I was wondering if you could use a dvi to hdmi cable and connect the hdmi to the pc and dvi to monitor to try to trick it into thinking its a dvi signal. Will this work

So basically all dp to dvi cables are single link and the adapter is 40 bucks. So better off figuring out how to better secure the dvi cable for the 8 dollars lol
