acer gn246hl dual dvi not working.

so my acer gn246hl just arrived. connected it with the dual dvi cable and it sort of worked but also showed thousands of green pixels. Thought the monitor was toast out of the box but then i connected my old dvi cable, and monitors seems to work perfect.

However this cable doesnt support 144 hz. so im wondering if the cable that came with it maybe no good or if im missing something here. My gpu is a gtx 970.

Try a DP cable if you can. That could solve all your problems.

my mother board has a mini display port. so could i get a mini display port to dual dvi link would that support 144hz

You could try it, but that's one of those things, you might find someone who's done it, but it's not common enough to get a quick answer by the time you've probably tried it already.
