So I have an Acer aspire laptop with a server set up on its hard drive. It broke so I pulled out the hard drive and put it in an HP machine. It boots up fine and works fine, but I have Windows 10 on it and the HP isn't supposed to have Windows 10. I also can't install the drivers. Also, the computer still thinks its an Acer aspire. I want to install windows 10, so is there any way to do it without a full restore with the HP product key?

After the Win 10 update, and before the laptop died...if you had done this, maybe.

As for it thinking it is still and Acer...that requires a full OS reinstall.

What license key do you have to go with the laptop?
Win 10? Or other?

The Acer laptop came with Windows 7 and I immediately upgraded to 10 when I got the update tool. The HP Pavilion came with Windows Vista, but I don't want vista at all.
