Actually for a business such as the ones named, this would easily suffice and keep costs down.

Not only is this meant for business, as deftonian mentioned, but you have to realize that most programs, and web pages are designed with particular icon and text sizes that don't work so well when you go too high in resolution for the size of the monitor. Tablets and phones have been able to increase their PPI because their programs are designed around those particular devices, and basically started over. This is going to be a much bigger challenge for desktops as there is a wealth of software designed around a much lower PPI.

Ha ha, that's pretty much true. But this is aimed at "not cool" jobs, like the one I once had as a transcriptionist. Even the screen resolution is the same.

It's for running Office, or an office...their potential customers probably prefer that you not be able to do anything fun with it.
