A simple test.
Press the key to enter bios setup of the laptop.
Check to see if the hard drive of the laptop is detected by the bios, and that it reports the correct storage capacity.
Put your ear to the laptop and listen for any kind of grinding noise or clicking of a set pattern when the laptop is turned on then restarts after a set time period.
If you do it, is an indication that the drive in the laptop is failing or has failed.
And needs to be replaced.
The laptops bios is having trouble detecting the hard drive. Or cannot boot from the hard drive because it is damaged.
The drive needs to be tested in another system for errors or replaced for a new drive if so Keegan more likely if the laptop is a few years old.
