Acer laptop camera constantly on

I have had this problem for a while now. Quite frankly, at this point, I'm rather creeped out by it. I have done just about everything to fix this. I disabled it in the settings and uninstalled it but, it`s still on, giving me notifications every time it resets itself. Acer won't even help over the phone because my laptop is out of warranty..
Someone PLEASE help me turn this damn camera off.

Are you afraid of taking your laptop apart? Because next steps would be 1. reinstalling OS and 2. detaching and reattaching the connection to the camera. If those don't work, I would permanently detach it.

As a side note, it's better you know it's turned on than for it to be on without you knowing it. In the meantime, put a sticker or tape over it just to be safe.
