Acer laptop stuck booting after update, power button won't work

I installed some sort of bios update through windows update for my brother's Acer laptop. Now it's stuck on a black screen with the acer logo and below that it says "Please wait while we install a system update". It's been like this for about 24 hours now... the power button doesn't work either. I guess the only thing I can do is unplug it so it shuts down and then plug it back in and see if Windows loads?

The laptop came with a pre-installed valid copy of Windows 10 but no windows dvd, the only advice i've seen after scouring the net has been to hard-reset the computer and then re-install a fresh copy of Windows but obviously I'd rather not do that, and I'd rather not have to send it in if this is actually fixable. Literally all I did was run windows updates and then this happened. It was on the latest windows 10 build, some sort of acer bios patch.

The laptop is an Acer Spin 3.

Can anyone help me fix this? Thank you in advance

Okay so I plugged it in and turned it back on.

1. Acer screen with little dots circling
2. Black screen with little dots circling
3. Windows screen saying please wait with the dots circling
4. It finally booted and it's just fine

The power button doesn't work. F2 doesn't work, none of keys work that would've hopefully brought me to a bios menu, both from a USB keyboard and directly typed into the laptop's keyboard itself (although the laptop's keyboard is lighted up).
I don't know what's going to happen but I am going to go ahead and leave it unplugged until the battery dies. With this laptop model the battery isn't removable :/.
