Acer Monitors

When my ACER P191W monitor displayed 2 vertical red lines, I removed it from the computer and replaced it with an HP why are there no lines on the HP?
I connected the Acer to another computer and the red lines were still there why?

The Acer LCD monitor is starting to fail.

No, you cannot fix it. If it is still under warranty then the best thing to do is to get a RMA. If not, then it is time to buy a new monitor.

I am buying a monitor for someone and I found X203WbD (16:10 and 1680x1050) or X203H bd 20" (16:9 and/or 1600x900). I guess they are similar but have different resolutions. I suppose the latter is good for watching movies?

I was wondering about which one to choose based on quality and resolution. Btw, I hope yours (OP) isn't either one of those.
