Question Acer Nitro 5 doesn't detect second monitor ?

I have an Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-52) Gaming Laptop and I want to connect a second monitor through the USB3 or USB-C ports.
I have tried several USB-to-HDMI adaptors but Windows 11 doesn't see the monitor.
Does anyone know if it can be done and , if so, how?

Does the second monitor appear in Device Manager?

If you right- click an open area of the laptop's desktop do you see "Display Options" and/or "Show more options".

Selecting "Show more options" should reveal the GPU's Control Panel. with the configuration settings necessary for multiple displays.

No, second monitor doesn't appear in Device Manager
The second monitor is not detected by the GPU control panel
I know the monitor is not faulty as I have used it as a first display

From my research I already know the USB C is not Thunderbolt enabled but thought it would support DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP Alt Mode) allowing a USB-C equipped computer to connect directly to a display or monitor through an adapter..
