So I bought an Acer Orion 3000 and we'll didn't know prebuilts were in general a bad purchase but I saw some days ago a review of a Alienware r10 that had burnt VRMs and it made me worried. So there are zero people with this problem on my Acer model but I actually increased the power limits on mine. Stock limits are P1 65W and P2 154W which I changed to P1 130W and P2 148W. Should I be concerned long term for this or is it only a problem on Dell models. If you increase the power limits above the stock 154W P2 the computer actually turns off but in a normal way like windows turns the computer off. It's not a immediate power off. Bit concerned and I know this models are hard to evaluate but would appreciate some help. Also the PC included a 11700f and a 3070 but only 500W 12vo PSU do you guys think this could cause problems. Loaded question but thanks for your patience

That cpu runs hot. I would look at an aftermarket cpu cooler and 750w psu.

Remove the side panel from the computer and check to see if the VRMs are covered by heatsinks. If you can see naked inductors and MOSFETs, think carefully before you incease the power limits. Have you changed your CPU or just boosted the power limits?

I added small heatsinks to the MOSFETs on an inexpensive mobo when I upgraded to a more powerful CPU. Whether or not they actually improve matters I don't know, but I've decided not to overclock the new CPU.

These are just an example of self-adhesive heatsinks. I needed smaller versions to fit between the inductors on my mobo.
