I have recently purchased an Acer Predator X27 Gysnc monitor which is displaying some rather strange colours in the peak highlights of some HDR content.

Youtube HDR video

Battlefield 1

My hardware setup is as follows:
i7 7700K
ASUS LGA 1151 MAXIMUS IX FORMULA Bios version 0906
EVGA GTX 1080Ti
GSKILL 3000Mhz 32GB DDR4
WINDOWS 10 Pro version 1903 build 18362.476

Running latest Windows updates as well as Nvidia display drivers.
Nvidia Control Panel settings:
Refresh rate 98Hz
Output colour depth 10bpc
Output colour format YCbCr444
Play HDR games and apps enabled in Windows

Within seconds / minutes of viewing HDR YouTube content the peak highlights display colours like the first two images. Gaming is more inconsistent. It took over an hour of playing Battlefield 1 before the colours blew out as per the uploaded image.

What do people think, have I got a configuration problem here or am I looking at a monitor issue? BTW I connected the monitor to a friends gaming rig (Windows 10, RTX 2080) and the same issues viewing YouTube content.

So, the monitor did the same thing on a different PC?

HDMI or DP?

Have you tried a different cable?
Yes similar issues while watching YouTube HDR content on a second machine. I've used three different Displayport cables, including the one provided in the box. I can't be sure which DP versions they are, however I would expect the supplied one to be in the 1.3 - 1.4 range. I have also tried the connection using a Premium Certified 2.0b HDMI cable and get the same problems.
