As we all know these two monitors are about to hit the US market around July 22nd (Hopefully), there has already been a decent amount of solid reviews on the PG35VQ. Personally i like the build quality of the acer much more and that's the monitor i want, but there has been super limited information on the x35 compared to PG35VQ. From what i have read it looks like the acer will have 2ms response time compared to the asus 4ms. Any thoughts on which one will be better ? i know both are rocking the same VA panel. These have already sold out where thee has been pre orders so when these hit US markets there will most likely be limited time before they are sold out, so im trying to act fast and get the better of the 2.... Thoughts ?

These panels are going to be near identical in a side by side comparison. Both should be very good. The Acer website shows a 4ms response time, so I dont know where you are getting 2ms. Either way, unless you are playing ultra competitive quick twitch shooters, you the response time wont ever be noticeable.

I am sure you will find people who hate Acer and love Asus, and vice versa. In the end, the actual panels are probably made by the same company. I have had the Acer x34 and the xb32 for a couple of years. They are the best monitors I have ever owned and I have been very happy with Acer. So I would go with them. But you will find people here who will tell you horror stories of Acer. So it is just up to you.

Thank you, and i agree. So on the UK website where you can pre order, it shows the monitor as 2ms Grey to grey response time... not sure what that means lol But yest the difference between 2 and 4 and pretty much non existent. im assuming you like the x34, are you gonna upgrade to the x35 ? The build quality from Acer seems a bit more premium, at least from photos. Disappointing they haven't released any information on it like asus has been doing with allowing Social media influencer to advertise it.

I looked at the Acer US site and it says 4ms.

For the record, I love the x34. Once you go ultrawide, you cant go back. I have a really nice Acer x32 which is a 4k 32' monitor and I really only use it on games that dont support 21:9. I like 21:9 more than 4k. The extra real estate is great.

I dont know if I will go for the x35. The 200hz refresh is a nice bump from my 100hz, but my 1080ti wont be able to push 200fps in the AAA games I play. So if I go for the monitor, I would probably need to grab a 2080ti to take advantage of it. I plan on waiting till Nvidia releases their next GPUs on the 7nm process before I make the plunge for a new GPU. Maybe by then the prices wont be as bad and I can avoid spending 3k on a new monitor and GPU.

I think the USA Acer page just hasn't been updated for years. The link i attached is to their Australia products page where it can be purchased and its advertised there at 2ms. But like you said not a noticeable difference anyways. I think your card should be able to handle it... they use the 200hz for advertising while in reality it can only be achieved with HDR off at 8bit color...

HDR on
8bit color 180hz-200hz (HDR OFF)
10bit color 144hz
12bit color 120hz
