Im using acer predator z35 which obviously suplorts 144hz and gtx 1070 but in my nvidia control panel, 60hz is the only hz option i have and im using a hdmi cable not sure if its 1.2 or 2.0 .
Its because the monitor itself is limited to 60hz if you're using a hdmi cable. Try using DP as the monitor should had come with one anyways and tell us your results

No idea if that works-I am not very well versed when it comes to adapters and their capabilities. The limitation stems in the hdmi input of your monitor so not sure if connecting the dp end to your monitor and then adding the hdmi to your gpu will work.
I just bought a display port to hdmi cable does that work? Display port to display ports are sold out from the store i went to. THe cable looks like this but the hdmi part is thinner https://m.dhgate.com/product/dp-displayport-to-hdmi-cable-adapter-white/133881450.html#pd-103
No, try another store or order the correct cable online.
Just to be sure i did not recieve a dp cable with my monitor, i had to go buy one myself and i wasnt and still not a computer expert so i just got hdmi cables and only till recently i disocovered that my monitor was running on 60hz when i couldve ran on 144hz. And any dp to dp cable is ok? Because i went online to order one and there are lots of different ones
