Acer Refurbished XB271HU

Has anyone had luck with Acer certified Refurbished monitors? I picked up an XB271HU from Acer's official Re-certified eBay store for $500. Thought it was a great deal until the monitor was delivered broken. The screen was badly cracked, frame was bent and the mounting bracket on the monitor stand was bent. Also missing one of the cables that was supposed to come with it. I'm willing to give Acer the benefit of the doubt that the screen was damaged during shipment but they take no real measures to ensure its protected during shipment. The monitor had no protective styrofoam or air bags or any padding of any kind around it. Just a loose fitting and worn out cardboard frame inside the box. Also they packaged the aluminum stand right on top of the screen. I expected better quality from a company like Acer. I'm obviously going to be sending it back but RMA is such a hassle especially since Acer is making me pay for shipment back to them with a promise of a refund.

No way would I be paying shipping back for their obvious 'mis-packing'.
