Hi I've recently bought a Acer veriton m2610 off eBay it has a i3-2120 CPU 250gb HDD and 4GB ram its mid tower size I tried to stay away from small form factors so I could get whatever graphics card was available

Anyway I went out and got the best used inexpensive graphics card locally which was a sapphire hd5850 xtreme 1GB I noticed it needed 2x6pin PCIe connectors but I have a 600w psu with the connectors I was planning on using in this pc anyway.

I'm just looking if there's any owners out there who could tell me if this card will work in this PC or even fit, I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find much on this particular model PC.

I realize I'm being impatient and time will tell but if all goes well what type of games could I run on this system, apparently the stock mobo can take any 2nd gen i3/i5/i7 could this be a good future upgrade and which one? Any help would be appreciated.

You got the computer and the card, open the case and see if it will fit and work.

Do a BIOS update first.

Unless you got the card for like $20 it was not a very good purchase. For newer games the RAM amount is too low to run well, it's old and uses up a lot of power for the speed. Even for $20 I'd look for a used Radeon R7 360 or GTX 750 something which is maybe $40, faster, newer tech, uses less power.

It should run almost any game, but at low settings and possibly at lower resolutions, 720. By the time you upgrade the system to do what you want, you probably would have spend as much on a newer system with better parts to begin with. Especially since Acer does not use quality motherboards.

Thanks a lot i did this and it worked i was stuck with Intel HD graphics but figured it out on the bios, i did get the card for £20 which is more or less $20.

Thanks for the suggestions i think im going to pick up a GTX750ti in the near future and i plan on getting 8GB RAM next as this is the limit for this system. Would upgrading the CPU to a i5 or even i7 2nd gen be beneficial ? Will my i3 hold me back later on when i plan on playing newer games or is this more dependant on the GPU?

Either way all together this PC has cost £100 (PC+GPU) so i'm very happy so far.

An i5 in the system will make it quite a bit faster. Replacing the hard drive with an SSD is also a good idea, older hard drives tend to run slower over time as the develop errors and Windows and the drive fimware works to keep the drive working properly.
