Recently I bought a brand new acer Acer xb270hu 27' IPS monitor. It looks sweet. When I set the monitor on OD setting Extreme: I noticed an unusual issue. Occasionally Shadows would flicker.

The best example of this would be during COD. At the end of every game, it shows the top three characters. On extreme, whenever a character moves the shadow that is cast on the body "flickers" on and off. AKA the shadow cast by the body will dissapear and repear continually whenever there is movement.

Any idea what might be causing this? I also notice on extreme there seems to be a higher ammount of "blurriness" when I move quickly.

Your help is most appreciated

Thats odd, nearly every other place says dont mess with it...

IDK dude, all I know is it seems like its a widely reported issue and best to leave alone. GL!
Hi friend, every review I've seen on the 144hz panels (optronics processing?) say to steer clear of changes to the OD settings.

Low and Extreme/High introduce issues and best to leave at normal.

If you want to have better responses, you can enabled UMLB...but at the loss of G-Sync.

@Toddybody

Agreed. Most guides I read simply say "set it to extreme for the best response time". Though EVERYONE I've spoken to says don't do that... lol. I was mostly posting here to figure out if there was a work-around so it "could" be run on extreme. Games look better on extreme; however, do the issues with movement its not a realistic option.

For the time being I will leave it on normal.
