There has been reports of that in Amazon reviews. My sample is fine, but yea, send it back and get another.

I was worried I would get one like yours. From what I can gather there are at least two sets of these monitors around. The apparently older set with a lot of them with stuff in the panel (like yours) and a newer set with better QA maybe? The old set was so bad that Amazon stopped selling them for quite a while. I had to order mine from B&H Photo - Video - Audio (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1132443-REG/acer_um_hb0aa_001_xb270hu_widescreen_lcd_monitor.html) as it was on sale at the time as well. I don't think that will help you but just be aware there seems to be multiple SKUs of these out there.
