So I made a small savings. Can you suggest an upgrade on my pc I will make it a mid range gaming pc that can make fallout 4 in high settings or any other games.
My pc is a Acer xc600
Processor=i5-3470 3.2 GHz
Vcard= Geforce 605
Ram=4gb
PSU= 220W
Motherboard= Acer provided ( should i change this? )

Im planning to replace the GPU for an ASUS GTX 960 2gb OC . Should the GPU work on the MOBO? Shall i replace the motherboard? and should i replace the PSU? Will the upgrade be possible? any suggestion would gladly be appreciated.

Solution
Asus gtx 960 - https://www.asus.com/au/Graphics_Cards/STRIXGTX960DC2OC2GD5/specifications/ - is 21.52 x 12.12 x4.09 Centimeter so you need to check it'll fit in your case.

You need a good quality 430+W PSU to run it eg http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/antec-power-supply-hcg520m%2Cseasonic-power-supply-s12ii520bronze%2Cxfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9/

Solution
You're using fallout 4 as a benchmark for graphics, its hard to say what will run it, the game is far from release, we simply don't know how it performs.

That being said, the 960 is a very decent GPU, and should definitely be capable of playing fallout 4, but at what exact settings we don't know.

But first, you need a better PSU.

yes it has a pcie 2.0 x15 so is it good to go?

im planning to replace the case and does the Corsair vs 550 will do?

is it optional to upgrade the ram to 8gb? or should i stay to 4gb. I hope it wont bottleneck much of the games I will play.

Hang on this is an OEM build, are we absolutely sure the recommended gpu's will work. I know some Dell's and think Lenovo's have list in the bios of accepted upgrades, if the part isn't on that list the system wont boot. Do Acer do this same tactic to limit upgrades?

yeah im pretty worried about this. so I hope someone will answer this question.

Yes. But its not as good quality as the ones I linked to. See http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html#xtor=EPR-8886

Ill try to find a store that provides that psu its pretty hard to buy online things in my country. Also does Acer limits their upgrade? Im afraid once i bought this parts the bios wont work on the new GPU.
