Hi Troops,
I've been having a saga with my Acer Z5610 All-in-One PC after a corrupted hard drive which I won't bore you with now I'm winning the battle but I was hoping you could help me win the war I've now declared on my system.
I'm finally saving my 1TB HDD using DBAN and plan to re-install Windows 7 once I'm done but was hoping to make some long overdue updates to my system whilst the case is open. I tried windows 8 but was not a fan to be honest.
Unfortunately I'm having trouble identifying my motherboard manufacturer or product number, there is nothing written on it at all. I am therefore struggling to identify a compatible Graphics Card and CPU upgrade. Is there any other way to identify the board? I contacted Acer and Intel who were unable to assist. Nor were my 2 local computer repair shops.
My aim is to build a to build a faster and more stable system for work and multimedia streaming.
I would like to update the graphics card and CPU. Increase the memory from 4 to 8GB. Replace the bluray ODD as it has failed and install a SSD to use for the OS, freeing the 1TB HDD for storage.
I have also purchased a DS415play with 4x1TB HDD for back-up and wireless streaming/storage.
The data I have on my system thus far is;
CPU: 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad, 64kb primary cache, 2048kb secondary cache, 64 bit ready
BIOS: Phoenix P01-bo 11/30/2009
MB: QTCEL810I95104195, 533MHz bus clock
Ram: 4GB, DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600.
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series
I would really appreciate any advice you have or recommendations for compatible components.
Also if you have any better suggestions for improvements I'd be happy to hear them.
Cheers and sorry for the mammoth task!
