a simple question... I cloned my source drive to my backup drive...lets say i wanted to clone couple of weeks latr..will the cloning erase everything and start from scratch or will the cloning be recognised and only add the new files and programs from the source drive? Can I clone the same drive without erasing its previous cloning data??

You didn't mention the version you have. I have true image 2009. Cloning will always do the entire drive or a single partition. It will always overwrite the previous image unless you add a post process command/program to rename the backup image.

What you are talking about is a differential backup. True image can do this too. When you are going through the backup wizard, you are given the option to choose. One of the options is a differential. This will only backup files that have changed since the last backup. I recommend that you read through the help file or check out Acronis's FAQ's and forum on their web site.

I have acronis true image WD edition...so i think thats based on 2009..
so I should read and figure how to perform a differential backup...
