Activate 1394 port

I have a 1394 port on my system that is a front plug in. It appears that have been turned off months ago. Does anyone have the answer to turning it back on using the pre-windows command as it is not recognized on the control pannel screen in windows?

Right click on My pc, properties, hardware tab, device manager and look for your 1394 port. Right click, properties and enable.
