Active Tasks?

I've noticed activity on the two little monitors that are displayed on the
bottom right of my screen when I'm connected to the internet using MSN
Explorer. Ordinarily, when I'm not doing any sending or receiving, the
monitors are black and when active they are light blue. Lately they've been
active all the time and my system seems slow. I've used McAfee Virus Scan to
check, but I have no viruses. The only thing I can see is that the number of
bytes received grows larger each time I rest the mouse on them. How can I
tell what's active on the system, besides my normal MSN?

Hi Bobby,

Are you set for automatic updates? That could account for the activity.

I'm only set for auto updates with the McAfee. When it is updating I see a
different symbol on the taskbar. I don't have it set for auto for Windows.
I go there manually. Thanks for reply.

Hi Bobby,

Well if it were me, I'd install a third party firewall that will pop up and
tell me which applications and processes are trying to access the 'net.
