All,

We have an ActiveX Control that works through the Internet Explorer browser
here at work. All of the
Active X control settings in IE are either set to enable or prompt for a
response and when this ActiveX control tries to load nothing happens but the
page sits there like it wants to do something but it wont. This is through
the Intranet at work so the proxy settings and all are set correctly as we
are able to get through to everything else on this network. Any ideas why
this will not work on this one laptop machine? Here are the specs for this
machine and everything is updated except they wont let us have the SP2 just
yet...

BTW, we have cleaned out all of the cookies, programs objects, and also
reloaded IE. Of course we also did all of the basic clean house stuff like
Adaware, Spybot, etc.....nothing.

Processor: Pentium IV 2.4 GHz

Memory: 768MB RAM

Hard Disk: 40GB

Floppy Disk: 3.5"

Monitor: 17" Super Hi-Res. VGA (1280x1024) 16m colors

Network: Intel 10/100 Ethernet Card or BUILT IN

Other: CDRW

DVDRW

Built in sound

Software: Windows XP Profesional

MS-OFFICE XP Professional

MS-OUTLOOK

MS-TCPIP

MS-INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0

Winzip

WS-FTP

McAfee Antivirus

Thanks!
George

Service pack 2 for XP ?
MS added a popup blocker that effects ActiveX. Even though
I've disabled the blocker and set everything to prompt I still
have problems with sites using ActiveX. Just a guess on my part.
