I recently added a new DC to our netowrk everything went well.
Now i need to know what the promary and secondary DNS should be on the
servers.
currently i have each server pointing to each other for primary DNS and to
themselves for secondary DNS.
each is forwarding to the External DNS server for internet resolution.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct. or should they point to them selves
first then to the other?
Thanx

Your current setup is OK as long as your not getting errors at startup.

About the only recommendation you'll find at Microsoft is that the first DC
in the Domain is used as the preferred DNS, then any other DC other than
itself as Alternate, this is to correct a DNS island issue. You would
normally only use this setup to reinstall the Active Directory DNS zone.
Pointing to the other first then to itself second will work fine if you only
have two DCs.

thanx for your answer.
now what if i have more AD/DNS servers, then what.
e.g
i have two AD/DNS in domainA.com
then i have three seperate AD/DNS servers in site1.domainA.com. at a
seperate location, both locations are using different ISP's DNS for internet
name resolution.
Thanx
