Hey, I have a Intel WiFi Link 5100 Laptop internal WiFi card that i removed from an old laptop. I want to use that on my Desktop. If it is possible how can i do it?
Is there an special adapter needed? and what is the name of the slot?

The adapter is called Mini PCIe to PCIe adapter. You will also need antenna and cable many of these come as kits.

I would not waste money on that card. Toss it in the trash and use the money to buy a modern card. That card only support "draft n" which means it is not 100% compatible. 802.11n is already old technology everyone uses 802.11ac and that is soon replaced by 802.11ax.

You can get either basic USB or internal pcie wifi nic cards of about the same price as a adapter card. You might as well put your money toward a modern card.
