adapter issues, need to get 144hz

hey guys, i have a dell xps 15 9560, and a 144hz monitor, i need to be able to get 144hz from my laptop, the laptop has thunderbolt 3, and my monitor has dvi-d, so is there an adapter i can get, for example maybe converting thunderbolt 3 to display port, display port to dvi-d? any help is appreciated!

Displayport to dual link dvi adapters are expensive and unreliable for high refresh rates. Honestly there is no good solution if your monitor doesn't have a displayport.
