Question Adaptive-Sync help

I am looking at buying the Samsung Odyssey G7 32-Inch monitor. However I noticed that it has “Adaptive-Sync: FreeSync Premium Pro” and I have a Nvidia GPU that is G-Snyc. Is this monitor still going to work to its full potential?

Check for the specific model on Rtings. For example this model supports Gsync and it's mentioned there.

There's different models in the Odyssey line of monitors so search model specifically. I'd say it does support Gsync.

So I actually look and found out that I prefer the Neo G8 and it does have G-Snyc. However, how do I find out if my 2080ti GPU will be able to run that monitor?

The 2080ti will fail to use that monitor anywhere near its full potential. It'll look good, though.

2080Ti can run 4k 240Hz using Display Stream Compression.

More on Display Stream Compression below. You'll be limited to Displayport for this compression because Hdmi 2.1 is from Rtx 3000 series.

Keep in mind though, even though the 2080Ti's Displayport can manage 4k 240Hz with DSC, whether you'll actually benefit such high refresh rate in 4k resolution will highly depend on game and graphics settings. 2080Ti is a decent 1440p performer, don't expect any higher than 100fps in modern titles in 4k. Probably more like 60 to 80fps.

Frames per second equals refresh rate. Monitors are a lengthy investment so if you see yourself upgrading graphics card in future then yeah go for it.
