I have been using Asus X99-A for a long time and recently picked up a used Asrock X99 Fatal1ty for my second rendering system. Short observations so far:

Asus X99-A
Pros:
user control more voltage settings (vccio, vccsa, etc., current limits, etc.) due to digital vrm?
Cons:
adaptive mode doesnt work for me!!

Asrock X99 Fatal1ty
Pros:
simple interface, one click overclocking
adaptive mode works!!
lower cpu temperatures due to adaptive voltage
Cons:
cant set VCCIO and VCCSA voltage, and have no idea what they are under hwinfo64, don't want to fry my cpu
hybrid vrm?

Here comes my problem....

I've not been able to get my Asus X99A to work with Adaptive Voltage mode so I've been using full manual mode all this time. Whenever I change to adaptive mode and set a max turbo voltage to my stable voltage (used for manual mode) and set SVID Support to enabled, still the system will not post. Dr Debug throws code 95.

Then I tried the same CPU on my asrock board, first getting it to work in manual mode. And then I changed it to adaptive mode, set max turbo voltage, it boots and works like a charm.

Is there a setting I missed for Asus ?
