Adaptive voltage setting not changing

Hi guys,

Ive been trying all day (literally) to get a stable overclock on this 7700k. Ive finally realised that adaptive mode is only maxing the vcore at 1.232v no matter what I have set in the 'additional turbo mode cpu core voltage'

In manual mode its perfect hwmonitor, aida64 and hwinfo all say its changing as I change the bios. Adaptive mode always maxes under load at this 1.232v

Ive uninstalled AI suite 3 incase it was interfering, and have the voltages between 1.2 and 1.3v in bios and nothing changes the end result. Lots of crashes and blue screens and bow Ive given up and need help. No amount of research seems to find an answer 🙁

Just incase it matters both LLC is set to 0.01v

*If the computer is NEW I would leave it at default settings and test the computer for at least a week before attempting an overclock.

Your SUSTAINED temperatures with a program like HANDBRAKE (real-world worst-case or close) running close to 100% should be about 75degC preferably, but no more than 80degC IMO

4.8ghz in manual but not even 4.5ghz in adaptive

I followed that guide to the letter. There isnt much to it but cant get past step 2 ("is it stable") as that guide uses adaptive mode and my adaptive mode voltage isnt doing what it says on the tin

The computer isnt new and the temps are high 70s on default bios settings. I dont want a massivr overclock...just control over the voltage so i can find a sweet spot

If I use the auto tune function it sets it in adaptive mode and works correctly. If I copy those settings and input them myself it reverts to this 1.232v

You can try that.

FYI, you can have different overclock utilities installed. They only change things when you open, change, and SAVE the settings.

I prefer messing with the BIOS however I don't have a modern CPU so can't give specific advice.
