Adata 8gb DDR3 1333 Ram

I received a single stick of 8gb DDR3 1333 Ram from a friend, I tried installing it and all I get is a few seconds of power then the PC reboots in a loop, I checked and the stick is correctly and firmly inserted, when I insert my old Ram setup 2x4GB sticks it boots up correctly, I checked the motherboard specifications and it should be able to run this Ram

Motherboard - MSI H61M-P23 (MS-7680) (SOCKET 0)
Existing Ram - Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333 (x2)
Proposed Ram - ADATA DDR3 1333 (9) 8GX16 U-DIMM

Is the Ram bad or have I missed something and the Ram is not compatible?
Sorry if this question has previously been asked, I could not find a solution on my own.

I have tried the stick in different slots and same reboot loop occurs.

The Adata memory may be incompatible.

Could try clearing CMOS and try new memory again. If it still doesn't work, what is the part number of the Adata memory?
