Question ADD A PORTABLE MONITOR TO IPAD [not pro version]

Has anyone been able to add a PORTABLE monitor (USB) to an iPad [not iPad Pro]. I have the hardware to make this work with a NON apple device but cannot get it to find the PORTABLE monitor -- even when juiced (plugged into electric).

...MORE information:: I am able to connect a wireless keyboard, earbuds and mouse...just not the portable monitor -- No place to load a driver.

I'm a beta - hardware/software since the 80s -- I've got a way to do this with Android [non-apple devices] -- trying to navigate putting apple with non-apple devices. Thanks!
