Add a slave ide hdd

hi i own a phillips iqon tesco 2 model desktop it has a gigabyte ga8s661gxmp mobo i want to add a hitachihdd model no hdp725025glat80 harddrive for storage do i need to upgrade the bios to get it working?it detects both hdd,s when i go to boot up but it does,nt show up in my computer are these hdd compatabile with my mobo any help please

Control Pannel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management, Right click on the new drive, Create a new partition, then format and assign a drive letter.
