Hi, I am thinking of adding a 1TB PCIe drive via an adaptor to a Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 mother board, will this work, will I need a heatsink. Will I still have access to my sata 3 drives.

Solution
you will not see any of the speed an nvme drive has to offer on that system. you are much better off buying a normal sata ssd and working with that. it will be cheaper once you factor in the cost of the adapter. use the savings to get a bigger drive :)
