Add printer using ip address

you go to add printer wizard
select add network printer
type in the ip address in the text box, if printer is there, it should resolve the IP and install the printer

alternatively you can use windows explorer to navigate to a printer folder on the server that the printer is connected to and right click add from there



That won't work, that dialog looks for a printer attached to a server share, not just a printer hanging out on the network.

To directly connect to a printer and print over IP, you need to select Local Printer, and create a new port using IP.
