Add2 psu help

I just bought and add2psu connector to connect my main 950w PSU to my 585w psu. When I connect them together and flip the switches do they both turn on? My real question is does the 585 jus add to the 950 or do I need to connect different things to both? Currently the 950w is connected to everything.

That add2psu device's sole purpose is to turn both PSUs on at the same time. No, they do not add to the other PSU. You have to move devices off one PSU to the other.
