addaptar/cabble to connect SAS device to SATA3 connector

i have an SAS SSD and i want to connect it to an SATA3 connector.
so, has smb already done that?

it if is free check the back connector they should be regular sata one and since it is in a laptop if you had a raiser to it might not fit in .

what side of the connecor is considered as its back and what u mean by riser in my laptop?

check it and if if have same ssd connector as a plain sata hdd then you dont need the adaptor you link in post and if you had a adaptor it might not fit in the laptop case due to the lenght you had to the ssd .

u mean, that the ssd that i have mihgt fit into the sata connector of my laptop?

it says that the SAS is an evolution of the SCSI. a
as u can see in the samsung web page, it says that it has an SAS connector. so, i do not properly understand why u started to mention the SCSI connector.

my further question is: do the BIOS also need some support? given that it already supports the SATA3, will it also support my SSD?

it is a scsi evolution but need 29 pins to connect to system and the regular sata use 7 pins so that why if you put the adaptor space for sdd in laptop is made only for plain ssd ,stay around and let see what others will tel you .

the one you link will work in a pc and yes for the ssd you see this plastic tab in the middles of the sas that the one who will not plug in plain sata . so in laptop you wont be able to connect it and and case close .
