Added 4GB which all went to Hardware Reserved

Just upgraded from 4GB to 8GB of ram(4X2GB). When I had 4GB installed about 750MB or so was used as hardware reserved. When I put the additional 4GB in my hardware reserved jumped to 4800MB, as if all of the new memory went straight hardware reserved. I understand what hardware reserved is, and why you need it, but should that all have be allocated for that? I just can't see there being a need for almost 5GB of hardware reserved.

Windows 7 64-bit

EDIT: Just noticed that in Windows Properties it says: Installed Memory(RAM): *GB (3.25 Usable)
Not sure what this means though. I guess because the rest is all hardware reserved?

Stop using a 32bit copy of windows. Then you can have it.

It's a 64-bit.

Max Memory was already unchecked, and I have a dedicated GPU.

1. What MOBO?
2. What EXACT RAM - need links.
3. Are you partitioning your HDD? If so any partitions have a 32-bit OS?

IF your MOBO has Memory (Hole) Remapping -> Enable ; use for 64-bit OS.
IF you have a Pirated copy of Windows 7 64-bit then it is in reality a 32-bit OS; if so see -> http://www.cristgaming.com/pirate.swf
