I have a TP-Link AC 1750 connected to cable modem.
IP 192.168.1.1 - DHCP range is 100 - 199
My PC is hardwired to this router. All fine.
2nd Router, TP-Link WR1043 is set up downstairs over ethernet from router 1 lan port to router 2 lan port. - IP 192.168.1.2 - DHCP disabled.
I can login to the 2nd router from upstairs.
However I cannot see my NAS connected to 2nd router, and TV has no internet, also connected to 2nd router.
Any ideas where to make changes please?

Bring the WR1043 into the same room as your computer and do a factory reset. Then do the configuration again. The only reason you would be unable to see someting using the LAN ports on the WR1043 is if it was configured incorrectly. The LAN ports are just a switch. Most likely problem is you didn't get the DHCP server disabled.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion, I reset the 1043, disabled DHCP, rebooted, set IP to 192.168.1.2, saved all changes and rebooted, but still cannot see my NAS connected to it.
Nothing I need to do in Windows to set up the network is there?
I'm stuck.

If u can PING but no SEE (browse) then u got a NETBIOS/WINS issue, not all routers handle this issue well, u can access in the meantime by \\IP, assuming your NAS has a static.

Around here, I notice folks love to manually use their favorite DNS on clients themselves and I suspect is part of this issue. I recommend configuring all your fav DNS entries on your DHCP server, but your clients DNS should always be pointing at the GATEWAY (same as DHCP box). The DHCP server *should* provide the correct NETBIOS/WINS service.

Step one is to setup the NAS with a static IP address. You can look at your primary router DHCP server list of clients to find the DHCP address.

If NAS has a USB port, maybe. Verify with manual.

As for the rest, you may have to break down and call annoyingly geeky cousin Vinie to visit and entice him with a Monoprice.com (the place to go for cables and more cables) gift card. 😀

Powerful tools may require powerful management.

I'm guessing it has a 192.168.0.xxx number from the old network maybe??

Unfortunately it does not appear in the client list whilst plugged into 2nd router. Should I plug it in to the primary?
Thanks

Had to use Synology Assistant to 'find' it and then assign a new IP within range.
I now have it in windows. TV is also online.
Thanks
