Added a third monitor by mistake

I somehow added a third monitor in Display settings and made all display on the third monitor only. get rid of third monitor in display settings. Trouble is, I don't have a third monitor. Now I only get a black screen on my laptop and on the second monitor. HELP!

Boot up the laptop in safe mode and remove the 3rd monitor.
