If it's impacting your gaming experience, then it's a problem. Either run them on a second screen or set a timer and progressively make the interval longer til you just stop checking.

Temps are (nearly) irrelevant today. You'll either lag hard or shut down before temps do damage so theres no real point with the exception of periodic (quarterly maybe?) checks or during OC tuning.

Enjoy your games!

I check my temps too much too... haha. A good thing I like to do is minimize the program so I know it's there and I like to think that: "This is technology in the 21st century, if it failed so much we wouldn't be where we are now" and then I feel much better. It's good to know that you can check your temperatures but strong will power is needed not to keep checking it. I check mine now probably about 5 times a day.

I'm not sure why checking temperatures is so addicting, I find it so as well. To make checking less hassle while gaming use an overlay to display CPU/GPU temperatures in game. MSI Afterburner can do this. Then you just need to look in the corner instead of alt-tabbing for current temp info.

thanks for your replies guys i think with me it is mostly because when i check it shifts and that makes me want to check the temps even more i worry incase it starts to overheat but i know i shouldnt worry and yes its totally addicting lol

I have SpeedFan running in the background all the time (mainly to automatic change my fans) but just so I can see the temps, and max temps :)

It's nice to know other people are addicted to viewing their temperatures 😉

If I run a temp program in the background I normally clear the min/max so I can check how my proc is doing. need to get a cooler for my 8350 though, stock has been letting it get up to low 60s, and max is somewhere around 70 I believe. Lately my CPU has been fluctuating in clock speed a lot though. If my fan speeds become too audibly crazy my case has a temp sensor resting on the heatsink which gives me fairly accurate (albeit 20C cooler) temps of my cpu under heavy load, at idle it is about the same.
