Adding 2 monitors for 3 screen gaming questions

I presently have an Acer Predator XB270HU monitor running on a GTX980. I want to add 2 more monitors for some gaming. I don't care about running 3 screens at max details as long as I can get a playable frame rate.

My present monitor is 27" 2560x1440 144Hz with G-sync

My goal is to play games at 5760X1080 as I think a single GTX980 would have a real hard time with 7680x1440. I may add a second 980 later on perhaps with Black Friday sales or around Christmas.

Should I go with 2 more 27 inch 2560x1440 monitors and lower the resolution on all 3 or just get 2 27 inch 1920x1080 monitors?

Depending on which way I should go, what monitors would you recommend?

If you have the money then I would go with the 1440p monitors. You can always run 1440p monitors at 1080p and deal with a little blur to get better performance, but if you get a new video card either as SLI or even on a new computer in the future you can't run 1080P monitors at 1440p...

Monitors are always something I spend extra on since I usually find they last through a couple of machines/upgrades.
