adding 2 routers. will it stop lag?

my brother always streams videos, downloads and stuff like that. if I add another router will it still be laggy when i connect to the second one?

Rule of thumb when it comes to a network, one router/firewall per network. So to answer your question, adding another router will not help the laggyness of your connection, no. My best advice would be to get your internet upgraded or tell him to stop with all the streaming.

However, what kind of connection and router do you have?

if anything it probably give you more lag because now you have not only 1 but 2 devices it has to passthrew to manage your internet connection

Your best bet is looking into what QoS options your router has built-in and learn how to use them to improve responsiveness.

If it is a wireless connection that you are both using, switch yours to a wired connection.
