Adding 2nd SSD for storage despite having OS on it

New computer. Windows 10 on M2 NVME SSD

I want to add another older drive I have laying around, a SATA SSD, to the new computer for storage purposes only.

Older Sata drive also has windows 10 on it.

Can I just plug in the SATA SSD to the computer and go? Then maybe format the drive once windows has booted as it normally would from the NVME?

You sure can, just make sure you have your NVME drive set as the boot drive in the BIOS.
