adding a 16gb ddr4 2133mhz ram stick with a 8gb ram stick

Solution
Optimally they should be a matched set. This is a pair (or 4) memory sticks that the manufacturer has tested as a unit. After that would be a pair of the same size, speed, timing, voltage sticks. Less simple/stable than that is mismatched pair. Finally would be completely different memory sticks. You might get them to work in single channel mode. Mixing RAM is a crap shoot.
