adding a 2nd hard drive with windows 8

I recently purchased a new PC and am installing the old hard drive (WD800JD) as 2nd drive. The Computer Manager doesn't show it as "Drive 1". Is there something else I need to do? Thanks

You need to go in to drive manager and assign a drive letter or put it online.

Oops, what I meant to say is that the drive does not up all. It cannot be selected from the Drive Manager.
