I have 6 Corsair SP120 RGB fans and a single RGB controller. Given that the SP120 RGB controller only allows 6 fans i'm maxed out. But my new build will be with 7 fans and I don't want 1 oddball fan. I was wondering if anyone has tried splicing in an extra SP120 RGB onto anothers fans RGB wire that leads to the RGB controller? Considering LED's consume so little power, by do so you could essentially add RGB control to an extra SP120 RGB fan without having to buy another controller provided the controller can handle a little bit more draw. I am thinking of experimenting with this during my new build this week. A simple steady handed soldering job and some shrink tube should do it.
Anyone have any experience trying this??
Thanks!!
