Question Adding a 8gb stick + 2 4gb of ram

hey everyone I want to upgrade my ram and currently have 2 4gb sticks in dual channel. I found a good deal on the same model and speed of my ram but it's 8gb. Will it work? Will I lose dual channel? Thanks

Gtx 1060 3gb

Yes you will lose Dual Channel and it might work. Adding is hit and miss even if identical.

3 sticks of RAM will work, but it will work terribly.
Either keep 2, or go with 4. And don't mix up the memory amount, as this will cause compatibility issues and you will go through Ram compatibility hell when you boot your PC.

Memory modules should be identical models!

I suggest you selling those 2x 4GB modules and re-build your PC with larger modules 2x 8GB or even 2x 16GB.
