My question might be a bit confusing..
My current computer OS is 32 bit XP, I want to upgrade to 64 bit OS.. I've already checked and my computer is able to support 64 bit.
Now due to the fact that my main hard drive is failing (whenever I boot it up, I get an error message stating the hard drive is about to fail, please back-up your information and ... etc etc etc, so it's worthless to me to upgrade the software on this hard drive from 32 to 64 obviously, but I've also had this error going on for almost 3 years (I'm not sure if it's a true HDD fail or just a SMART drive false positive.. I tried running Seagates program to check it, but during every install I get an error message and it won't install, spoke with Seagate but they are no help)
I have a 2nd computer, with a HDD that has Windows 7 64 bit.
Is it possible for me to take that hard drive, and install it as a 3rd hard drive on my current computer.. making it the main, and the current main (which is suppose to be failing and has windows xp 32 bit) as a slave and then run it and basically everything work?? Or will it cause issues? (I do know how to add extra hard drives to my computer, it has the power support.. recently had to buy a new power supply that is twice the strength of what my computer currently needs due to a graphics card I bought)
So because the windows 7 hdd is from another computer, if I install it into this one and make it the boot drive will I have problems?
