Hello guys, just joined today. This is my first thread so..

I was planning on upgrading my RAM to 24GB, but I'm planning on getting another brand named RAM.

Currently I have 8GB of RAM (Kingston HyperX 1600) and I'm adding another one which would be 16GB of RAM (G.Skill RipJaws X 16GB 8X2).

Are there any things to take note here?
Like:
-Is it possible?
-If so, will it have differences in performance or stability if I'm using different brands?
-or, is it really recommended that i should use same brand name RAMS?

Computer Specs down there

Solution
Hi Ian Dayon
mixing different brands of ram can be very problematic
even if they are the same 1600mz , timings may be different and voltages this will cause you no end of problems
better to get the same KINGSTON you already have and avoid the expense and headache , either that or get all GSKILL
