Adding a second GPU

Hi all,

Some of you may have seen me asking various questions on here about my first Gaming PC build.

Just have another question. So realistically by current budget will only stretch to 1 GPU, which I am opting for a GTX 780. I would love to get 2 and run them in SLI but at the moment its not financially possible.

So my question: Assuming my case is big enough and my Motherboard has the space for an extra GPU, I can just buy one at a later date and "add" it to my rig? yes?

Also how easy is this to do yourself? As I will be getting the PC pre built from PC Specialist and not building it myself. How easy is it to add a second GPU yourself and is there anything to watch out for

Again, Thanks in advance

Yes, but you must:

- Have a Motherboard that is SLI compatible (and have the connector).
- Have enought PSU, over 800w at least for 2 780, you also must have at least 2x6pin and 2x8pin in adition to any other power connector for mainboards, etc....
- Need the slots for the two 780, some models of them are 3 slots in size and put 2 of them could be dificult.

It's easy?, yes just put the second card in the PCIe, plug the PSU cables (1x6pin and 1x8pin), the SLI connector between the two cards, and activate the SLI in the Nividia drivers, but you generate some problems like overheating is the case haven't enought airflow if you haven't enought fans in the case.

He's right you must have a PSU powerful enough to pull off the Crossfire or SLI configuration
